Keno For Dummies
Keno was invented in China during the Han Dynasty between 205 and 187 B.C., the game was brought to America during the 19th century by Chinese immigrants when they sailed to the United States to assist in building the American trans-continental railroad.
Now lets learn about the game and how to play:
Keno is a simple and addicting game that is based on a player picking anywhere from 1 to 20 numbers out of a total of 80. After you pick your numbers you have to chose how much you want to bet, a player can bet anywhere between 1 dollar to 100 (maximum bets vary on where you play). The amount you bet will affect how much money you can win back. After youve chosen your numbers and placed your bet, you take your card up to the keno booth (at a casino) or to the cashier (at a convenience store or bar). If your at a casino you can give your card to a keno runner who will take your card to the keno booth for you and brings back your ticket. After you receive your ticket, all you have to do is sit back and watch as the numbers are drawn, either on a TV or a machine filled with numbered ping-pong balls.
So how do you win and how much do you win? Well, this all depends on how many numbers you picked and how many hit. The money you win back depends on how much your initial bet was. For example, you played 4 numbers and bet 1 dollar; if 2 numbers hit you win your money back, if 3 numbers hit you win 6 and if all the numbers hit you win 125 dollars, the more you initially bet the more money you win. Paybacks vary from place to place; some casino will give you 120 dollars for hitting all four numbers while others will give you 130 dollars. Paybacks vary but usually range from 70 to 80 percent.
Is that it?
Thats it! Like I said, Keno is a very simple game thats extremely fun. Theres no possible strategy fro keno as returns are very infrequent and building a strategy is impossible. Keno is a great game to play with friends over dinner or a drink at the bar or at the casino. Just remember to have fun and to not over do it!
