Possible Instances Where Youll Hear The Words Virtual Poker

Ah, generational gaps. Gotta love em! Besides giving us innumerous instances of hilarity, but we also have so many different nicknames for certain things that it makes for some very interesting circumstances. Like the term virtual poker for instance! Never heard of it? Good, since it doesnt even technically make sense. But what follows are some possible instances where these words would actually be heard.

Not to be disrespectful in any way, but a lot of the older folk who arent too privy with technology might refer to online poker with the words virtual and poker. If youve ever tried to explain such a thing as the Internet to someone like this than youve likely discovered that its like trying to talk to a brick wall.

Even if youre trying to explain it to an old-timer who loves to play poker, they cannot seem to grasp the concept of what they refer to as virtual poker. Why would you need to play poker on a machine that is called a computer when you can just play with other actual people or go to a casino? Sometimes they make some valid points, but then again, they also dont fully understand everything that youre trying to tell them.

For fun, why not just start calling online poker what the old timers are calling it? Maybe we can get it to stick. There are plenty of green newbies in the chat rooms wholl gladly latch on so lets make this an international movement!

Maybe the older folk are on to something perhaps? Maybe weve become disenchanted with the game while playing it on the Internet that weve fallen out of favor with what playing poker is really all about? Were supposed to play it for fun and the competitive drive that it gives us. Who cares what medium you play it in or what you choose to call it? All that really matters is that you love the game and actually have somewhat of a grasp on how to play it. And not ask so many stupid questions.
