Jack didnt have much time. He knew that as soon as the river was dealt he was a dead man. He stared at the screen, his heart racing, and all he could think about was her and what he would be doing now if only he hadnt accepted her invitation to play virtual poker

Stacey Addison was ordinary as a girl. She didnt turn the heads of many boys in high school, so it was easy for her to blend in with the crowd and learn the games that her brothers always beat her in growing up. Because she wasnt asked out much, she would stay home and practice the gaming skills she learned from the boys at school. It wasnt long before her grandmothers old deck of cards started to wear down and show noticeable marks, which is not good for anyone wishing to gamble seriously. So Stacey decided to go online and see what interesting games she could find in cyberspace. To her delight, she found the world of virtual poker a few clicks, and she was hooked. Playing online gave her the chance to play against players much better than her brothers, the boys at school, and anyone else she knew. She was playing against, and learning from, and eventually beating some of the top players on the planet. Unfortunately, leaving the safe confines of the Wichita Gamers Club meant she was also unwittingly raising the eyebrows of some very, very bad people.

If Jack had known Stacey in high school, he would never have recognized her when they first met. In college, she had developed a full, athletic physique, sultry lips, and flowing blonde locks, so now at 25, she was an absolute knockout. What drew Jack to her was that she didnt seem to know how attractive she was and that she carried herself like a calculated, confident woman.

The back-room casino was a far cry from the virtual poker rooms where Stacey had learned her trade, but the skills she learned there were very relevant and very deadly to her opponents chip stacks. Jack watched as she picked off each player at the table, one by one, with barely a blink of her eye. As soon as she won the table, Jack swooped in to introduce himself, which she promptly ignored walking away without a word.

Jack glanced down at her seat to find a note inviting him to meet her in a virtual poker room. He was intrigued and confused, but raced home to get his laptop fired up anyway. There she was, just as the note had promised. What it didnt tell him was that his account was already credited with over

Jack didnt know how they had gotten his number, why he was being targeted, or why a girl as innocent-looking as Stacey would do such a thing, all he did know is that he just went all-in on a pair of kings against Staceys queens with nothing on the flop. If he can just survive the turn and the river, hell be back to even and just might be able to get out of this. And the turn comes queen.
